Robinah lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is a widow with four children and all of them attend school. She is looking after her sister and brother.
She has been selling charcoal from home for the last five years at retail, working seven days a week. She also sells piped water to the neighbors.
She has requested a loan of UShs 2,500,000 from MCDT- SACCO to enable her to buy more bags of charcoal. Her major business challenges include the high costs she has to incur in transporting the charcoal from upcountry to the market and also thieves.
Her dream is to make sure that the profits enable her to build rental houses and also to buy a delivery van to ease in transportation. She joined MCDT because of the timely loans and the good customer care and also the low interest rates.
She lives in a family house with access to electricity and piped water. Her major monthly expenses are school fees and feeding the family.
