Sokhom is 38 years old. She is a mother of four children and resides with her husband in Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia. She has been selling groceries for more than ten years, earning approximately $15 per day. Her husband is a policeman who earns about $4 per day. All of her children are still in her care.
In order to improve her family’s livelihood, Sokhom is requesting a loan of $1250 to raise capital in her business to purchase more groceries to resell. By doing so, she would generate more income to support the family. In the future, she would like to expand her grocery store and help her children earn a bachelor’s degree. Moreover, she hopes to rebuild her present house to make it more convenient for her family.
