Mrs. Prak S. is 49 years old and has six children. She makes a living by running a stand near her home from which she sells a Cambodian delicacy that is made of papaya mixed with fermented fish, chili and small shrimp. Her husband works at a construction site and earns about $3 per day. Mrs. Prak S. has applied for a loan to purchase some utensils and more equipment for her stand so that she can raise her income and meet her clients' demand. She will also use the loan to buy a motor-bike that her husband will use to commute to work. This will make their lives easier, and help them raise their standard of living.
