Gulnaz is 48 years old. She lives in a small village in Sagarejo District with her husband, Malkhaz, and their 25-year-old son. The family is busy with their agricultural business. They have two milking cows and produce cheese. Part of the cheese is used by the family, and the other part is sold to a merchant. Glanaz's family also has two hectares of land, where they grow maize and a vineyard on a small plot. During spring and summer, they perform seasonal agricultural work to get a good harvest. The family sells their products on the local open market. In addition to these activities, Gulnaz and her husband make wine in the fall and sell it with their other products. The family's total average monthly income is 1100 GEL.
Gulnaz requested a loan to increase cultivation of their land. She plans to sow more maize, and after the seasonal work is properly done, she hopes to get a larger harvest to increase sales. With a bigger profit, she will be able to reinvest in the business to expand it further, thus improving her family's living conditions.
