Souheir is a 40-year-old Lebanese woman. She lives with her husband and four school-aged children. She's a friendly and above all hardworking woman. She's a tailor; she's very talented at her job and has more than twenty years of experience working in the same occupation. She's well known in her area and works upon client's requests from her home. In parallel, she possesses a residence where she benefits from its monthly rental charges. In order to provide the family with extra financial support, her husband became a carpentry owner in his town and also started to work in a local hotel in 2005.
With her requested loan from Kiva Partner Ameen s.a.l., she will purchase a new tailoring machine as well as mandatory supplies such as textiles, needles, strings and many different items. She is very optimistic and is ambitious to open her own tailoring factory as soon as she can, hoping to enhance her family's way of living.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
