Francis lives in Inroad, Aurora. He earns through farming, cultivating coconuts for 20 years, so as to support the needs of his three children. He gets an income of 15,000 PHP a month for this business. For a 50-year-old father, there’s nothing more that can make him happy except to see his children successful in their studies.
Without hesitation, Francis is borrowing the amount of 40,000 PHP from GDMPC microcredit to purchase additional seeds, seedlings & young crops to raise. He joined GDMPC in 2011. His plan in the future is to hopefully improve his business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
