Mdune is 50 years old, married, and has six children who attend school. Mdune has been operating a goat meat business for 12 years, selling at the market mainly to the people operating slaughter houses.
Mdune is requesting a loan for 8,0000 KES, which he will use to purchase goats and cows. Theft of animals is his major challenge. Mdune lives in his own house that has neither electricity nor piped water. He describes food and school fees to be his greatest monthly expenses. His goal is to own a rental house.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
