Faith is a farmer in her rural home in Nkubu, Kenya, where she lives with her husband and one child, a toddler. She has been in farming for four years with farming being the major source of income for her family. Faith also supplements her income with her retail business (shoe sales) in the local market.
Faith has requested a loan of 35,000 KES from Juhudi Kilimo to buy poultry birds for a venture into poultry farming. She says rampant crop failure due to low rain has compelled her to diversify her farming. She plans to establish a good water-harvesting system in her farm and later venture into dairy farming, too.
She says poor markets and rampant crop failures are her major challenges.
