Mary Jane of Alindahaw, Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur has been raising ducks for more than 5 years and earns 8,570 PHP per month. She is 37 years old now, yet continues to hang on to her livelihood to give adequate life for her 4 children. She is a new member of GDMPC. In order to enhance her livestock upon selling, she is borrowing 10,000 PHP from GDMPC microcredit to purchase feeding supplies. Mary Jane hopes that someday, her children will be successful in their careers.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
