Nazario
Nazario, age 63, lives with his wife, who is his right hand and his companion in the good times and the bad times. Together they have seven children who are now adults. However, he always gives them his affection and his love as a father, the same as they give to him. His house is in the city of Nazca, a city known for its hot climate. You can also find the Nazca Lines in the city (huge drawings in the middle of an arid field that served as a calendar of the rains for the Nazca culture centuries ago), which receives a lot of tourists all year. Agriculture is developed in Nazca, especially the cultivation of cactus pear, cotton, and corn, among others.

When Nazario has free time he really likes to read. He sometimes asks his wife to prepare one of his favorite dishes, the delicious “Seco de Res” (a traditional Peruvian dish like beef stew). Due to the few financial resources that his parents had, he only has a primary school education. However, he would have liked to have finished school and had a university degree.

He enthusiastically devotes himself to his cotton crops. He works on his parcel of land around ten hours a day. He believes that it is going very well for him in his business because he is very dedicated, and, above all, because God is always with him, and his faith is very strong.

Nazario is very grateful to the Kiva lenders. Thanks to the support they have given him he will be able to fertilize his cotton. He will also buy products to cure his crops from pest infestations. This way he will be able to have a good harvest, and he will have better income. He will continue working and struggling to get ahead and to be able to fulfill his biggest dream: To have more crops.
