THE COMMUNITY CENTER “ALTO LIMA” IS LOCATED IN THE BALLIVIAN ZONE OF THE CITY OF EL ALTO. THE “AGUILAS” ASSOCIATION, COMPRISED OF 18 ASSOCIATES, MEETS THERE. THEY ARE A VERY AGREEABLE GROUP THAT,WITH THEIR LOAN ADVISOR, RICHARD SUXO, HAS WORKED WITH PRO-MUJER TO COMPLETE TWO LOANS. THE MAJORITY OF THEM HAVE SMALL CHILDREN THAT REQUIRE BASIC MEDICAL ATTENTION. THAT IS TO SAY THEY HAVE NOT HAD VACCINATIONS OR MEDICAL CHECKUPS FOR LACK OF ECONOMIC RESOURCES.

THE ACTIVITIES THAT THE "AGUILAS" ASSOCIATION MEMBERS PERFORM ARE OF ALL TYPES. FOR EXAMPLE, ONE OF THEM IS DEDICATED TO CARPENTRY. ANOTHER BAKES BREAD AND BISCUITS FOR SALE TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD STORES. BUT THE MAJORITY ARE DEDICATED TO THE MANUFACTURE OF CLOTHES SUCH AS: JACKETS, BAGS, SPORTS CLOTHES AND ALSO WHAT THEY CALL THE DRESSMAKING OF CASUAL CLOTHES; THAT IS TO SAY BLOUSES, SKIRTS AND T-SHIRTS.

THEY STATE THAT THEY NEED MORE CAPITAL FOR THE PURCHASE OF MACHINES FOR THE BAKERY AND CLOTHING BUSINESS, SO THEY CAN INCREASE THEIR PRODUCTION AND QUALITY. IN THIS WAY THEY HOPE TO BE ABLE TO GENERATE GREATER RESOURCES, ALL THIS FOR THE GOOD OF THEIR FAMILIES, SINCE INCREASING THEIR INCOMES WILL ALLOW THEM TO ASSURE THE HEALTH AND WELFARE OF THEIR CHILDREN.

LA MAYORIA DE ELLAS TIENEN NIÑOS PEQUEÑOS, QUE REQUIEREN ATENCIONES MEDICAS BASICAS, VALE DECIR QUE NO CUENTAN CON VACUNAS Y VALORACIONES INDISPENSABLES, POR FALTA DE RECURSOS ECONÓMICOS.

LAS ACTIVIDADES QUE REALIZA LA ASOCIACIÓN “AGUILAS” SON DE TODO TIPO, POR EJEMPLO UNA DE ELLAS SE DEDICA A LA CARPINTERIA, OTRAS PRODUCEN PAN Y BISCOCHOS PARA LUEGO OFRECERLOS A LAS TIENDAS DEL BARRIO, PERO LA MAYORIA SE DEDICA A LA CONFECCION DE ROPA COMOS SER: CHAMARRAS, SACOS, ROPA DEPORTIVA Y TAMBIEN COMO ELLAS DENOMINAN LA COSTURA DE ROPA LIVIANA, ES DECIR BLUSAS, FALDAS Y POLERAS,

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
