A group of neighbors and friends formed the “Allin Llankaqcuna de Chichubamba” communal bank in the community of Chichubamba in Cusco Department’s Urubamba Province. This communal bank is composed of people who seek at all times opportunities to get ahead by means of their daily efforts to provide a better future for their children. The economic activities of the members are, for example: guinea-pig and chicken sales, coffee and chocolate making, vegetable and flower sales. Others are in agriculture and some provide transportation services.

(Alcione is raising her hand in the photo). Alcione was born in Maranura District in the Province of La Convención. She’s 42-years-old and is in a common law relationship; she has two children. Alcione currently lives in the community of Chichubamba where she carries out her economic activities.

Alcione’s main economic activity is making ceramics. She has a workshop at home where she manufactures her products. She’s been in this business for 11 years already and she does very well thanks to the effort she puts into her business. On this occasion, Alcione needs the loan to buy supplies like paint, clay, glass and pigments. Alcione’s dream is to export her products and to attend international expositions.

The members in general are grateful for the opportunity provided and commit to make their various installment payments according to the established schedule.

Un grupo de vecinos y amigos formaron el banco comunal “Allin Llankaqcuna de Chichubamba” en la comunidad de Chichubamba en la provincia de Urubamba del departamento del Cusco. Este banco comunal está conformado por personas que buscan a cada momento las oportunidades para salir adelante y con su esfuerzo diario entregar un mejor futuro a sus hijos. Las actividades económicas de los socios son por ejemplo; venta de animales menores cuyes y gallinas, elaboración de chocolate y café, venta de verduras y flores y otros se dedican a la agricultura y a brindar servicio de transportes.

La socia Alcione tiene 42 años de edad y tiene una relación de unión libre de la cual tiene dos hijos. Actualmente, Alcione vive en la comunidad de Chichubamba y donde desarrolla sus actividades economicas. Su actividad económica principal de la socia Alcione es la elaboración de cerámica,ella tiene un taller en su domicilio donde elabora sus productos. Ya son 11 años que se dedica a este negocio y le va muy bien gracias al empeño que pone en su negocio. Alcione en esta oportunidad requiere el préstamo para comprar materiales como por ejemplo pintura, arcilla, vidrio, pigmentos. El sueño de Alcione es exportar sus productos y asistir a ferias internacionales.
