Asha is married with six children, all of whom attend school. She owns a house that has electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
Asha has owned real estate houses for the past ten years; her potential customers are tenants. Asha cites late payments by tenants as her major challenge. She dreams of expanding her business to buy more rental houses in the future.
With this loan she wants to purchase cement to renovate her rental houses. She decided to join Kiva partner Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
