Raul
Raul is a Young man of 29 years who lives in the city of Nazca, a city characterised for its warm climate. The Nazca lines are located there - they are geoglyphs found in a large arid plain, which according to some some studies were used as a calendar to predict the rainy season by the ancient nazca culture.

Raul learnt to earn his living from the sweat of his brow from a very young age, since his parents did not have much money. He worked so that he could help his parents with the household expenses. For this reason he could not finish secondary school but he would have liked to have studied at university. When he has free time he likes to listen to music and occasionally he likes to eat one of his favourite dishes which is the delicious “Olluquito con Charqui.” He tells us that it is better to be humble but hardworking and honourable because his conscience and his name will always be clear.

Raul takes great enthusiasm in his business of selling cheese and prickly pears (a fruit which grows on a plant which looks like a cactus, it is delicious). He works around 8 hours a day and can have up to 10 customers daily. He believes that his business is going well because he is very hard working and above all friendly and respectful towards his customers.

Raul is very grateful to the Kiva lenders since thanks to their help he will be able to construct a house because at the moment his house is made of rugs. It is now winter and he feels very cold and above all there is a lack of security, since it is a very fragile material. In this way he will have a better housing and above all will improve his quality of live. He will be able to continue fighting and working day to day to make his biggest dream come ture – to expand his business and finish building his house.
