Heba is a 31-year-old Lebanese married woman living with her husband and three children, who are still attending school. With the cooperation of her husband, Heba has been able to cover her family's needs and pay her children’s study fees. Her husband has been working as a blacksmith. As for her, she started to work as a tailor from her home in 2007, and already has many years of experience in this domain. Today, she wants to take a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase a new sewing machine in addition to some textiles, which will allow her to increase her productivity and thus her profits. In the future, she plans to open her own clothing shop.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
