Shadi is a 32-year-old Lebanese single man. He is living with his parents and one sibling. His father is the one taking care of the family and responding to their needs.
Unlike others of his age, Shadi started to work very early expecting to help his father with their expenses. He has been working as a plumber since 2002 on a free-lance basis and has a fair number of clients asking for his services.
Today, he is in need of a youth loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase new plumbing tools and expand his business. He notes that he is willing to take bigger projects and this Kiva loan will help him to achieve his goal.
In the future, he plans to open his own plumbing equipment shop.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
