Thémistocle is a rice farmer. This is his second loan from ABC. He will use his credit to buy chemical fertilizer and pay for labour.
To expand his exploitation, he plans to use modern methods of cultivation. Over the coming years he would like to purchase more fields to enlarge his farm. With the profits he plans to buy a vehicle which will help him to go about his business, build a house for his family, and pay his children’s school fees.

Pour faire croitre son agriculture, il planifie de cultiver d’une façon moderne. Dans les prochaines années, il voudrait acheter d’autres champs pour agrandir son agriculture. Avec les profits, il prévoit d’acheter un véhicule qui va l’aide à faire son business, construire une maison pour sa famille et payer les frais scolaire pour ses enfants.

This is a Group Loan
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
