La Guadalupana (Flat) Group
In this Group: Betzaida, Albina, Rosy Deldai
The name of this group is La Guadalupana, and it comprises three women. They each work in their respective business, and live in the community of San Vicente.

Rosa Deldai is married to Leonardo, with whom she has two children who are still her responsibility. The kids are in elementary school and high school, respectively. She requested the loan to invest in the purchase of agricultural products, specifically pepper plants, because this spice is in season. Rosa Deldai has been working in this business for a number of years and says it is going well, because it provides income for her home. She started this activity in order to help her husband with the household income, and so that they could buy what their children needed. Through her work and this loan (and while the pepper season lasts), her desire is to be able to work in order to pay her installments timely and purchase whatever she needs for her home with the proceeds.

The other members who belong to the group are: Betzaida, who will invest in purchasing and selling coffee, and Albina, who will invest in purchasing pepper to sell by the kilo.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
