Miguela is married and has ten children. She is 72 years old and resides at Malibangcao, Clarin, Misamis Occidental, Philippines.
Miguela owns and operates farm land, planting and harvesting corn and coconut for sale to earn a living. She has been in this business for five years. Each month, she earns PHP 6,000 doing this type of business.
She requested a loan of PHP 7,700 to purchase additional seeds, seedlings, and young crops to raise.
In 2009, Miguela joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her business and living situation. In the future, Miguela wants to make improvements to her house and to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
