A loan of $1,275 helped to purchase a cow and mineral fertilizers.

Arzykan's story

Arzykan is fifty-seven years old and she has four children. Since 1980, she's run a farming and animal breeding business, started from some purchased chickens for a sum of 100 soms (KGS). Thanks to her hard work, her business now consists of 20 chickens, 3 cows with calves and 50 heads of small-horned cattle. The sale of milk and milk products brings in about 4,000 soms a month. In addition, Arzykan has 3 hectares of land she uses to plant beans and perennial grasses.
In order to expand her business, Arzykan approached "Bai Tushum and Partners" with a request for a loan of 60,000 soms (KGS) which would allow her to purchase mineral fertilizers and a cow. She plans to reinvest the profits from the loan back into the business.
