Jamellah is a 29-year-old married woman living in Lutao, Panaon. Her husband is a laborer.
In order to add income in the family, she entered into a laundry business which started two years ago. She usually earns PHP 3,000 per month. With the help of GDMPC microcredit, Jamellah will be able to buy more soaps and powders used in her business because of the PHP 5,000 rendered to her.
She joined GDMPC just this year. She hopes to have much greater revenue for expansion of her business someday.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
