Paulino, age 32, is single and lives with his parents in a village in the Intibucá municipality. Ever since he was very young he has devoted himself to growing corn, beans, potatoes, and vegetables. He has been growing potatoes for ten years. He sells his production at the local market.

He is currently requesting a loan for 20,000 lempiras, which is his fourth loan with ODEF. He will use the loan to buy potato seeds, fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides that he needs to maintain his potato crops. He is hoping that with this investment he will increase his crops and get greater production. His goal is to work more in order to get a better harvest and to improve the family’s finances.

He is a member of the “Futuro Mejor” (Better Future) communal bank, which is comprised of three members. All of the members grow potatoes and lives in the same community. The group loan they are requesting is for 60,000 lempiras.

Paulino de 32 años de edad, es soltero vive con sus padres en una aldea del municipio de Intibucá. quien desde muy joven se ha dedicado a la agricultura cultivando maíz, frijoles, papas y hortalizas. Tiene 10 años de realizar cultivos de papas. Esta producción la vende en el mercado local. Actualmente está solicitando un préstamo de Lps.20,000.00, siendo este el cuarto préstamo solicitado a ODEF, y lo invertirá en la compra de semilla de papa, fertilizantes, fungicidas, herbicidas e insecticidas necesarias para el mantenimiento del cultivo de papas, esperando con esta inversión ampliar su cosecha para sacar mas producción. Su meta es trabajar más para obtener una mejor cosecha y mejorar la economía de su familia.
Es integrante de un grupo solidario denominado Futuro Mejor, formado por 3 miembros, todos se dedican al cultivo de papas y viven en la misma comunidad. El préstamo grupal que solicitan es por Lps.60,000.00. En la foto se identifican así: a la izquierda Pedro, en medio Paulino y a la derecha esta Guillermo.
