Vazha is 33 years old. He is a farmer from Samtredia District, West Georgia. He is married and lives with his family: his wife Zhuzhuna, two daughters (12 and 11 years old), a son (10 years old), and his 71-year-old father, who is a pensioner. Zhuzhuna is a housewife.
Vazha is mainly busy with the family agricultural business. They have 5 milk cows, 10 sheep, and one pig. Vazha produces cheese and sells an average of 80 kg per month on local open markets. He also sells 10 piglets and 8 lambs in an average year. Along with the above-mentioned activities, Vazha is busy with a family-owned plot of land. He owns 2 hectares where melons and maize are grown. Vazha uses the maize to feed the livestock. He sells melons at the local market as well. The family's total average monthly income is 700 Laris, including Vazha’s father's pension.
Vazha has requested a loan to be used for renting a tractor to till the land and for purchasing fertilizers. After tilling and fertilizing the plot, Vazha will work hard during the spring and summer seasons. He hopes that the weather conditions will be favorable as well so he will have a good harvest in late summer, which he can sell for a suitable price through his known channels. Vazha will use the additional profit to ensure the well-being of his children and to finance their education.
