Sarah is married with three children, all of whom go to school. She resides in a home that she owns and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees and feeding the family.
Sarah has a cosmetics business. She works on all categories of hair and at times moves door-to-door looking for customers who want their hair to be plaited. In addition to her salon business, she generates additional income by selling used shoes.
Sarah has applied for a loan of 700,000 Ugandan shillings from MCDT SACCO to buy more boxes of cream relaxers, weaves, and braids. Her major business challenges include an insufficient market and seasonality. She aspires to own a fully stocked salon, to educate her children up to the university level, and to build rental rooms.
