Youssef is a 46-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and three children, who are still attending school. He’s the one responsible for his family and seeks to offer them a better future. He started to work with his own winch in 2006 and has been involved in this domain for many years. His job consists of transporting damaged cars to the garage upon a customer’s request. Today, he’s requesting to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to perform the needed maintenance on his winch. That way, he will be capable of properly carrying on his work. In the future, he plans to take out another Kiva loan and buy a new winch.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
