Eka is a 41-year-old farmer from a small village in Samtredia District, West Georgia. Eka is married and lives with her family: husband – Carlo, 19-year-old son, and mother-in-law (pensioner).
The family has two milk cows. Eka produces cheese and sells on average 40 kg of this product in Samtredia District. Along with the above mentioned, the family owns a plot of land with 250 nut trees. Eka sells harvested nuts on the same market. Carlo works for the Georgian Railway Company as a worker and gets a monthly salary.
Eka requested credit for purchasing a mini-tractor. Carlo will use it for tilling family-owned land, as well as performing orders for neighborhood farmers. The family will get additional income and will use it for financing the education of their son, who is a student.
