Update on Rubia LasteniaRubia is a member of the communal bank "Renacer Uncovia." She lives in the outskirts of the city of Cuenca. This city is known for its architectural beauty, for which it has been named a World Heritage Site. It has many places to visit and beautiful landscapes, it has a large variety of cuisine which interests both locals and visitors. The people are friendly, kind and still maintain the culture and traditions of their towns.
Rubia is 45 years old, is married and has had five children of 24, 20, 15, 7 and 5 years old during her marriage. Her first two children work side by side with her and help her financially. Her third child is studying at college and her two youngest children are studying at a school in the city. She does not have her own house but is renting.
Rubia enjoys good health, as do all the members of her family. She is a shop-keeper and earns her living selling clothes, cosmetics of various brands and also sausages. She has been carrying on this business for 5 years.
She invested her previous loan in buying merchandise to continue with her business. She has not had any problem in repaying this loan and repayed it by the due date. She will invest this next loan in the purchase of cosmetics and clothes so that she can have a larger variety of merchandise. She likes the communal bank because of the cameradery which exists in the group and because of the loans which give her the opportunity to continue with the business.
Her goal is to have her own shop where she can sell her products.

Rubia tiene 45 años, es casada y en su unión conyugal ha concebido 5 hijos de 24, 20, 15, 7 y 5 años de edad, sus dos primeros hijos trabajan y la ayudan económicamente, su tercer hijo estudia en el colegio y sus dos últimos hijos estudian en una escuelita de la ciudad. No tiene casa propia por lo que vive arrendando.
La Señora. Rubia goza de muy buena salud al igual que se encuentran todos los miembros de su familia. Ella es comerciante y se dedica a la venta de ropa, cosméticos de varias marcas y también de embutidos, se encuentra en el negocio hace 5 años.
Su crédito anterior lo invirtió comprando mercadería para continuar en el negocio, en el pago de dicho crédito no ha tenido ninguna dificultad y realizo la cancelación a la fecha. Su nuevo crédito lo va a invertir en la compra de cosméticos y ropa para tener una mayor variedad de mercadería. La banca comunal le gusta por el compañerismo que existe en el grupo y por los créditos que le dan la oportunidad para continuar con el negocio.
Su meta es tener un local propio para vender sus productos.

Concurrent and Successive Loans
Our Field Partners often work with borrowers over a series of loans as the borrowers build credit, take out bigger loans, and expand their businesses. In order to make it easier for our Field Partners to post loans for borrowers who have been listed on Kiva before, we allow them to post successive and concurrent loans for their Kiva borrowers. This means that our Field Partners are able to post a borrower's second, third, etc., loan on Kiva without having to re-enter all of the borrower's information.
This borrower has been listed on Kiva before, so you'll see an updated loan description, as well as excerpts of the original descriptions from earlier loans. Most borrowers take out loans consecutively, meaning that they receive a second loan after having repaid the first. However, sometimes our Field Partners give out concurrent loans, allowing borrowers to take out one primary loan and a secondary "add-on" loan along with it. These "add-on" loans are typically smaller than the borrower's primary loan and serve a different purpose. Because Field Partners can now post loans as successive and concurrent loans, you will be able to track borrower progress over time and see the various ways a borrower is working with our Field Partners through funds from Kiva’s lenders.

Kiva allows our Field Partners to re-use the same photo for individual borrowers that have been posted on Kiva's website once before in a 24 month period, and we allow them to re-use group photos for up to 24 months, provided that 80% of the current group's membership is represented.
Taking, collecting, and uploading photos of borrowers is one of the most challenging elements of using Kiva for our Field Partners. In order to make Kiva easier for Field Partners to use, we have allowed them to post successive and concurrent loans without taking a new photo of the borrower if the criteria above are met.
