Mwarandu is a resident of Mariakani, Kenya. He is married and has nine children. He owns a retail shop which has been in operation for the last six years. He started the business with his personal savings. Despite all the progress he has made in the previous years, Mwarandu decided to join Milango upon invitation from his friends to access credit.
He is applying for a loan of 73,050 Kenya shillings to purchase retail products e.g. water, juices, bread, flour etc. He aspires to start supplying other fast moving goods in the future.
Mwarandu believes that the extra income from this loan will help him pay for his children’s school fees. The challenge he needs to overcome is the high cost of inventory and price fluctuations.
