Henny of Barangay II, Tangub City has managed a business buying and selling fish for more than 10 years and earns 15,000 PHP per month. Henny is 38 years old now, yet continues to hang on with her fish vending livelihood to give an adequate life to her 2 children. She has been a member of GDMPC since 2010. In order to enhance her fish upon selling, she is borrowing the amount of 20,000 PHP from GDMPC microcredit to purchase additional fish to sell. Henny hopes that someday, her children will be successful in their careers.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
