Nenita is from Tiaman, Bonifacio, Misamis Occidental. She is 47 years old, is married, and has one child. Nenita owns and operates a general store, selling daily-use products such as shampoo, toothpaste, canned goods, noodles, soap, etc. and snacks in the local community. She has been engaged in her business for 6 years and earns 3,000 PHP a month.
In 2007, Nenita joined GDMPC. Nenita is requesting a loan of 5,000 PHP which will be used to purchase additional products like canned goods, noodles, sugar and coffee. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
