Fahamu is a mother of two children, both of whom are in school. She operates a tendering business where she transports goods from one point to another destination i.e. she offers light transport services using her lorry. She has been in this business for the last three years, previously selling charcoal and firewood. Fahamu owns a house that has both electricity and piped water. She dreams of purchasing another lorry in the future. The high cost of fuel is her major challenge facing her business. Other sources of income include earnings from her husband. She joined Yehu to access some loans to boost her business. With the loan of KSH 40,000, she will be able to service her lorry.
