The group's representative, Agnès, is the one in the photo with her hand raised. She is 42 years old and lives in Benin. She did not attend school. She is married to a driver named Bonaventure. They have three children, all in school and in their care. Agnès lives together with her husband and children. The diverse household expenses are covered by the couple.

To cope with her multiple expenses, Agnès has been selling corn and akassa (a local food made from corn starch) out of her home for four years. She gets her supplies from northern Benin.

Seeking to satisfy her customers and to increase her sales and revenues, Agnès along with the other members of the group MIVADO are requesting another loan from ALIDé.

Le groupe MIVADO est composé de trois personnes qui sont issues de la même famille. C'est la cinquième fois que ce groupe sollicite l'aide financier de ALIDé, afin d'élever le niveau de son activité. La représentante du groupe, du nom de Agnès est celle qui a la main levée sur la photo. Agnès est âgée de 42 ans et vit au Bénin. Agnès n’a pas fréquenté l’école. Agnès est mariée à un chauffeur du nom de Bonaventure. Le couple a trois, tous scolarisés et à leur charge. Agnès vit ensemble avec son mari et ses enfants. Le couple assure ensemble les diverses charges de la maison. Afin de faire face à ses multiples charges, Agnès vend depuis quatre ans, du maïs et de l'akassa (aliment local préparé à base d'amidon de maïs) à son domicile. Agnès s’approvisionne dans le nord du Benin. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle et pour accroître son chiffre d’affaires et son revenu, Agnès sollicite ensemble avec les autres membres du groupe MIVADO, un autre crédit auprès de ALIDé.

About Alidé

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients. This is a Group Loan
