Wissam is a 32-year-old Lebanese married man. He lives with his wife and only child, who is still attending school. Wissam has owned a coffee booth in his town since 2007. He also travels from one village to another, responding to his clients’ demands. Even though he spends most of his time working, Wissam knows that, in the end, he’s offering a fair way of living to his family and this is what he cares about most. Wissam is now asking for a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase more coffee for his business. He notes that this will improve his financial situation. In the future, Wissam plans to have his own coffee shop.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
