Aida
Aida is a single mother of three children, all attending school. She takes care of additional family members (a sister). For the past few months, Aida has operated a beauty salon business from her home. She works seven days a week and on all categories of people. Aida generates additional income through selling charcoal.

Aida has applied for a loan of 900,000 Ugandan shillings (UGX), which she plans to use to buy more boxes of cream relaxers, braids and weaves. Her major business challenges are unreliable electricity and the increasing prices of cosmetics in Uganda. Aida hopes to see her business grow big so that she can own a bridal salon and build her house. She decided to join MCDT SACCO because she wanted to generate more capital. Aida lives in a two-room house and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include rent, utility bills and school fees.
