Doern, 28, is a local farmer from Kompong Cham province, She is taking out a loan from HKL, one of Kiva partner, to improve her farming business. She will use the loan amounts of KHR 3,000,000 to rend a tractor to till her land and buy bean seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides. Those farming supplies will help her farming process and generate more income to better her living status.
Doeurn is responsible for three lovely three kids, some of whom are attending school. For her future plan, she wants to save a part of her generated income to expand her land size in order to increase her output within the year. And she wishes to provide her children with further education as her legacy.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
