She is extremely grateful to the Kiva lenders. Thanks to the support they have provided, she will be able to make improvements to her home, which was impacted by the earthquake in 2007. Her house was flooded since it is located near the sea. The movement of the ground forced a few meters of water into her home. The improvements she will make include reinforcement of the walls, which will allow her to have a better quality of life. Maria continues to strive each day to fulfill her greatest dream of having a home in good condition and opening a cafeteria at the university.
