Dominga is the coordinator of the Las Perlas (The Pearl) 1, 2 & 3 group. This group is composed of 15 micro-entrepreuners located in the city of La Santo Domingo. Her family is made up of three children and her husband. Her children are attending school, while she is working at home making curtains and decaration sets for bathrooms and bedrooms. She is running a decoration business.
Dominga is very excited to receive her 4th loan through Esperanza International. She took her first loan around 2 year ago. Receiving these loans has made it possible to invest in her small business and give her a step forward to increase her inventory and sales. She will invest by purchasing fabric, thread, accessories, and other materials to decorate. One of Dominga's dreams is to become a famous decorator and expand her business to other levels and areas. She thanks you all for your support!!
This is a Group Loan
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
