Zainabu is a married woman with two children, both of whom are enrolled in school. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water.
Zainabu has been operating a food stall for the past six years and she aspires to opening a hotel in the future. She describes food and school fees to be her greatest monthly expenses, and price fluctuation of goods to be her major challenge. She sells her goods at the market centre to the general public.
The loan of 30,000 KES will enable her to purchase beans, sugar, rice and cooking fat.
