Norelyn is a 23-year-old single mom of an only child. She is living in Camanga, Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines, where her wide garden production is located. She has been cultivating this land since she was 21 years of age until the present time. She doesn't mind the scratches and itches brought by this kind of plant, for as long as she can earn income, Norelyn goes for it. She normally receives 8,000 PHP a month. Earlier this year, Norelyn joined GDMPC. She is requesting a loan of 10,000 PHP to purchase fertilizers and seedlings for the next planting. When the crop gets realized, the revenue from it will be allotted to expanding the business area to earn more income and to sustain her daily needs.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
