José Emilio
José is 49 years old, he is married and has three children. He works in agriculture, tin-smithery and carpentry. He learnt the ropes of being a farmer with his parents, and as for the tin smithery (making metal silos, channels, vats and buckets), he learnt this profession during a one week training course and he has been working in this field for five years now. José learned the trade of carpentry on his own, producing small furniture for his home which he has been doing for some 10 years.

In his work as a tinsmith, he doesn't buy the materials, instead he works on small projects with Instituciones. To offer his services, he walks for 30 minutes to a rural street in order to take a bus which lasts three hours, he then takes a take to the place where he will offer his services.

José buys the agricultural products in a city 35 minutes away from his home and he carries the products on his back by foot.

The loan he is requesting is to buy 5 bags of fertilizers, 3 bags of formula, weed-killers and fungicides and to pay workers to farm 14,000 square meters of corn and sorghum. José wants to give his children an education so that they can become professional workers.
