Maribel is the coordinator of her group, Las Responsables (The Responsible) 5 & 6. All these members are mainly Haitians. This group is located in one of the Bateyes from La Romana. Bateyes are rural areas surrounded by sugarcane fields. Maribel makes her home here in a simple structure with her four children and her long time partner. In the meantime, she plans to continue enjoying to work and take care of her children.

Maribel is excited to be taking her first loan with Esperanza. She has had her business for around a year. She plans to use this loan to invest in her business by purchasing fruits, vegetables, charcoal, chicken, and other goods. She runs a Fruits and Vegetables stall. She will use the profits to reinvest in her business. She is very motivated to invest in her business and she hope this first loan will one step to develop her business and to change the lives of her family.
