Rehema is married with 5 children, all of whom attend school. They live in a rented house without electricity or water. Rehema has her own business selling palm wine, which she has been selling for the past 10 years. She works from home and sells to passersby and people living in the surrounding community. Her biggest challenges are seasonality and rises in prices. Rehema joined Yehu because of their effieciency with loans. In the future, Rehema wants to keep growing her business and eventually start a new one. Rehema will use the loan to buy a jerry can of palm wine.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
