Nana is 43 years old. She lives in a small village in the Kobuleti district, at the seaside of Georgia. She is married and lives with her husband, Emzar, and her four children (22, 20, 15 and 11 years old). The two younger children go to school. The elder children help their parents in the family agricultural business.
They have 2 hectares of land where they grow fruits and vegetables. Nana and Emzar sell the harvested products at the local open market. Also the family has two milk cows. Nana sells milk at the same market. The total average monthly income of the family is 1,000 GEL.
Nana requested credit for purchasing saplings of nuts. She will plant them in the family yard and after two years, the family will get the first harvest. Nana will sell the nuts locally to nut exporters. The income of the family will increase in the long term.
Nana plans to constantly reinvest the profit in the family business to expand it in the future.
