Cipriana is 64 years old, married and has four children. She's dedicated to making and selling leather thermoses for more than 25 years.

She learned her craft from her parents, who taught her how to work with this activity. Cipriana is very well known in the region for the quality of her work, and her products have a quick turnaround, especially at the end of the month and the year. She also receives orders from customers in other cities like Asunción (the capital), Ciudad del Este, Encarnación and exports her products to Argentina.

Cipriana says that thanks to her work she and her husband were able to build a home, pay for their children's education and cover household expenses.

With previous loans she's received from Kiva partner Fundación Paraguaya she was able to purchase materials necessary to do her work. Today the demand for her products is higher and more varied than ever before, since thermoses with different colors, designs, names and sports logos are in style. She is requesting a loan to purchase large quantities of leather, threads, paints, special needles, glue, etc.
