Nadia Parveen's Group
Nadia herself is a housewife. She prefers staying at home and does household work. She has a set routine to get up early in the morning, ready her daughters for school, and prepare breakfast for her family. She makes the utmost effort to provide comfort to her family by fulfilling their needs.
Her husband is an electrician by profession. He offers electronics and electricity repairing services to the customers. He has been in this profession for the past 4 years and satisfies his customers through his good skills.
Nadia has applied for a loan from Kiva partner Asasah for her husband’s business. He will invest the loan in buying the latest electricity repairing tools to provide better quality repairing services. Nadia is hopeful that with the latest repairing tools her husband will be able to provide services to many more customers and can generate a good income.
Note: One of the members has a sewing business. That's why she is showing it in the picture.
This is a Group Loan
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
