Maribel
Maribel is a young woman of 28. She lives with her husband who works as an electrician, and with her three children, ages 1,9 and 10. For them she gives her life and all her effort. The sacrifices they make are for them: to give them a good quality of life in a loving family.

Her house is located in the city of Ica, which is known for having a warm climate at any time of the year. For this it is known as the "Land of Eternal Sun."

As well, agriculture is developing, especially the cultivation of cotton, paprika, grapes, asparagus and other crops. When she has free time available, Maribel likes to read. As well, sometimes she likes to prepare her favorite dish, the very tasty "arroz con pollo.” (rice with chicken). She only went as far as high school, but would like to have studied languages.

With a great deal of enthusiasm and especially effort, Maribel works daily in her business selling hamburgers, salchipollos (fried potatoes with shredded chicken and hot dogs), salchipapas (fried potatoes and hot dogs), fried chicken, and other foods.

She works at her business for around seven hours a day, and can serve up to 20 customers daily. She believes that her business is going well because she has a strong faith, and above all because she serves her customers in a friendly way.

Maribel is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, as thanks to the help they have offered her, she will be able to buy a refrigerator for her business, so that she can properly store the food she uses to prepare her dishes. This way she will be able to improve her income and her quality of life, and continue working to make her greatest dream a reality: ”To have my own house."
