Virgen de Caacupé is a communal bank, which is made up by 17 hard-working members. They are women eager to work and through their work they help each other and their families. A sample of their work is that they are already in the fourth cycle of the women’s entrepreneurs program and they want to remain together until the maximum level.

Myrian is the president and thanks to her leadership she can help her partners and lead the group to do well. Her desire is that her colleagues improve their lives through their own efforts and in this way feel useful.

Myrian says that she makes a living selling lingerie, which is going very well, since she has a good clientele. This helps to support her family´s expenses. She requested the loan because she wants to purchase a larger variety of lingerie with that she will innovate and attract more customers.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
