Natalia is engaged in a family agricultural business in a small village in Akhalkalaki District, South Georgia. She lives with her family: her 30-year-old son, her 26-year-old daughter-in-law, and her two-year-old granddaughter. All three adult family members are involved in the family farming business.
They have a milk cow, and Natalia produces cheese from the milk and sells it in the village to local dairy product retailers. They also grow potatoes, barley, and wheat on their family-owned, four-hectare plot of land. They sell the harvested products to local retailers as well. The total average monthly income of the family is 900 Laris.
Natalia has requested credit for purchasing piglets. She will raise these for seven months and sell the grown pigs in early winter for a profit. From this, Natalia will get additional income for the family. She will use her profits to purchase essential household goods and to improve the family's living conditions.
