Nada is a 47-year-old Lebanese married woman living with her husband. They have five children, four of whom are working and the other one is still attending school. Her husband is the main source of income in the family and has big responsibilities to take care of. As for Nada, she has been working selling fruits and vegetables for the past twenty-three years; she has her own shop where she serves all the neighboring villages. Today, she’s requesting a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase additional fruits and vegetables for her shop to be able to carry on her work properly. In the future, she plans to enhance her work and buy some land where she can cultivate all kinds of fruits and vegetables.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
