Update on Sandra Elizabeth

Sandra Elizabeth lives with her family (husband and son Samuel who is beginning kindergarden). She sells clothing in the communities in the area where she lives. She is very hardworking and enterprising.

A few years ago Sandra decided to start a business selling clothing. Some days she also sells meat to her customers. She has lots of self-confidence and is always seeking new opportunities to supplement her husband’s income which isn’t sufficient to cover household costs. So she gets up early every day to do chores, take care of her family, and then begin her job in the communities nearest to where she lives. Many people prefer to shop with her as she is a friendly, responsible woman--but the most important thing is that they always find what they need at good prices.

Sandra’s dream is to increase her inventory so that she is able make more sales and earn more money. She will then be in a position to help her family even more. That is why she decided to approach this institution to ask for a loan to buy a variety of clothing such as skirts, blouses, shirts, pants, underwear etc. In this way she will fulfill her dream trusting in an all-powerful God that all will turn out well.

It should be mentioned that Sandra is very grateful to the institution INTEGRAL as in the past it has provided her with assistance to buy clothing for her business. She hopes that this time will be no exception.

Concurrent and Successive Loans

Our Field Partners often work with borrowers over a series of loans as the borrowers build credit, take out bigger loans, and expand their businesses. In order to make it easier for our Field Partners to post loans for borrowers who have been listed on Kiva before, we allow them to post successive and concurrent loans for their Kiva borrowers. This means that our Field Partners are able to post a borrower's second, third, etc., loan on Kiva without having to re-enter all of the borrower's information.

This borrower has been listed on Kiva before, so you'll see an updated loan description, as well as excerpts of the original descriptions from earlier loans. Most borrowers take out loans consecutively, meaning that they receive a second loan after having repaid the first. However, sometimes our Field Partners give out concurrent loans, allowing borrowers to take out one primary loan and a secondary "add-on" loan along with it. These "add-on" loans are typically smaller than the borrower's primary loan and serve a different purpose. Because Field Partners can now post loans as successive and concurrent loans, you will be able to track borrower progress over time and see the various ways a borrower is working with our Field Partners through funds from Kiva’s lenders.
